Some people see addiction and other psychospiritual issues as diseases, but we prefer to look at them as natural aspects of the human condition. They arise as necessary defence mechanisms against the emotional pain caused by the negative narratives that people come to hold about themselves. Having been conditioned to accept these inauthentic narratives, it becomes impossible to simply be oneself, resulting in the need to adopt false personas, put on masks, and in many cases, self-medicate.
For us, clinging to sobriety with white knuckles is therefore not what recovery is about. Rather, it’s about undergoing a genuine rite of passage, whereby this negative conditioning is overcome and the connection to one’s true self is restored.
Using a combination of plant medicines, conventional therapies and spiritual practices, we help clients to re-wire their thinking and rediscover a sense of meaning and purpose in life, and love for themselves.
We therefore offer something that is radically different to traditional 12-Step programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA). Rather than providing a rigid system of thinking and acting that must be adhered to, we assist clients in learning to be true to themselves and live authentically.
